The South African Air Force introduced Aircrew and Air Traffic Control Computer Based Training since 1993 as a fundamental enhancement to the total training philosophy in the Air Force. The development methodology is focused on a re-usable content model and allows training packages to be created for specific training requirements. The “just-in-time” capability of distance learning enables the Air Force to provide online training to all its members, thereby achieving its overall objective in promoting training effectiveness – SAAF DETD
